Has been in the box ever since. Comes with the original box, unit, user guide, registration card, and carrying case. I have not tried to fix it myself and have not sent it back to Leupold for repair replacement msrp 299.

I do not know what is causing the unit to do this and cannot speculate as to why it provides inaccurate readings. The unit provides an accurate measurement most of the time but will sometimes lock on to targets in front of behind the target I am trying to shoot or will not provide a reading at all.
